This blog has the selfish purpose of motivating myself to translate technical subjects I’ve read up on into language that is as ordinary as possible. For now, ‘technical subjects’ will comprise mathematics, physics, and possibly philosophy. Inspired by the teachers I’ve had who’ve given me invaluable leaps in understanding by teaching in everyday language, and in particular by one theoretical physicist who had an unusual talent for using the word “thingummyhoo” in his explanations, some of which are still the best I’ve heard from anyone.
